Archie C. Towle Aviation Scholarship
Wisconsin College Scholarship Program Encourages the Next Generation of Aerospace Professionals
Students in Northern Wisconsin may be eligible for the Archie C. Towle Aviation Scholarship. Named for the flight instructor and administrator who helped develop the Wausau Municipal Airport, the Archie C. Towle scholarship is geared towards students who have taken a keen interest in aviation or intend to pursue a career in aviation.
Aviation careers beyond becoming a pilot or flight instructor, include:
- Aircraft mechanics
- Flight surgeons
- Aerospace engineers
- Air traffic controllers
To be eligible for the Archie C. Towle Aviation Scholarship, students must live within a 50-mile radius of Wausau, WI, and must pass a 2nd-class FAA medical exam for flight training. The 50-mile radius reaches nearly to Shawano in the east and includes Stevens Point, Nekoosa and Waupaca to the south; Merrill, Tomahawk and Rhinelander to the north; Medford, Colby and Marshfiled to the west.
The scholarship is administered by the Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin and will be paid directly to the recipient institution once proof of registration is received. The maximum award amount for this Wisconsin scholarship may vary.
